Toki Tori merchandise
Games | | January 24, 2009 @ 12:49 CET
We regularly get comments from people who'd like to own a real Toki Tori, be it in pluche or plastic form. We've been toying around with it for quite some time, but the costs are usually too high for the small numbers we'd be producing.
We recently learned about Shapeways, a new company that aspires to be the YouTube of 3D printing. We decided to try it out and the results are truly spectacular.

The model is five centimeters high and can be produced in a variety of different materials. We should be able to print bigger ones as well, but the cost will rise exponentially.
Now the question becomes, would you guys and gals be interested if we were to offer Toki Tori merchandising? What about pluche toys? Perhaps something else? Let me know your thoughts and desires and we may be able to get something started here.

If you ship them to Australia, I'd buy anything Toki Tori related. Anything! Toki Tori chicken feed! Toki Tori... underwear!Though a plush toy would be pretty awesome if feasible.

I'd love to own both plushes and plastic figurines of Toki Tori. I love the character! | January 26, 2009 @ 9:14 CET
This would be great! Toki Tori is a great game for Wiiware, and...it's so adorable that it would be a great thing to own and have on my desk so I can look at it when I'm stressed and not feel stressed anymore!Tim | January 26, 2009 @ 11:38 CET
well im not the kind of person who buys plush toys, but i think girls would buy it instantly. good wiiware game by the way, it was definatly worth my money buying. it should have had better sales, much better sales only one of the few good wiiware games.Angel | January 26, 2009 @ 11:42 CET
To be quite honest it will sell it's a cute character that comes from one of the better wii ware games out there. However if you really want to boost your sales I'd wait til you have a sequal ready. Or even just a remake of one of the older Toki Tori games redone for wii. Seriously it will fly off the shelves. | January 26, 2009 @ 11:55 CET
Toki Tori is a top game, I have recommended it to friends. Not sure if I would get the plushie myself, but I hope more people spread the word about Toki Tori. | January 26, 2009 @ 12:45 CET
I'd love to see any kind of merchandise but I don't really think this will boost sales. I would suggest making what costs the least amount of money. | January 26, 2009 @ 13:01 CET
Of course it should be interesting! I would buy one instantly! =D | January 26, 2009 @ 13:48 CET
Please make this. I tell every single person that I meet that has a wii to get Toki Tori. I love that Chicken. I would pay $5 plus shipping for an action figure that size.Jogurt | January 26, 2009 @ 14:26 CET
I'd love to have a miniature Toki Tori figurine/statuette about the size of those little wooden Buddhas that you see everywhere. A finished version of the one in the picture would be sweet, especially if the price was low enough. A plush would be cute, but I'd be less likely to get it, as I just want something small to sit on my desk near my game collection. | January 26, 2009 @ 15:04 CET
I'd buy anything toki tori!Stuffgamer1 | January 26, 2009 @ 15:16 CET
Toki Tori plushie...drool... :) | January 26, 2009 @ 15:58 CET
I would like a cute little TokTori of my own just like I got a cute little chocobo of my own | January 26, 2009 @ 17:24 CET
I will definitely buy it!Shortay | January 26, 2009 @ 17:36 CET
I would love to have to the chance to buy a Toki Tori figurine. That prototype looks great, and a finished version would be just what I'm looking for. Make it happen guys! :)Klonoa | January 26, 2009 @ 18:36 CET
I would certainly be interested! A figure or a plush toy, it wouldn't matter to me. I actually prefer plush, but either is fine.t.j. | January 26, 2009 @ 18:42 CET
agreed, i'd purchase a plush toki tori doll, or a small statuette if that was the only option available.that being said, cost is everything. i certainly wouldn't spend much more money on the figure than i did on the wiiware game.

I CAN HAS PLUSHIE PLZ - that would be absolutely amazing. Toys would also be fairly good, but above all, advertising would probably be the best option to get more people interested in the first place. | January 26, 2009 @ 19:03 CET
oh god, a toki tori plushie would make my day. i'd prefer a plushie to a sculpture, though. much more huggable. | January 26, 2009 @ 19:29 CET
I would definitely buy a figurine... if they ship to Mexico. Also, any chance of a sequel on Wiiware?
gzd | January 26, 2009 @ 19:53 CET
def. would be up for figure and/or plush. or how about in chocolate???Zaz | January 26, 2009 @ 20:35 CET
I'd like a figurine (can we have several models with sunglasses, weapons... ?). For the plushes, that depends what they look like (some plushes look so horrible...).Think to a shipping cost for France please :) (and to a sequel on WiiWare or NDS)

I would buy a few of these figurines - for me and my friends!!!Please make them!

I'm a sucker for video game plush, but I might be up for a small figure. I don't have a lot of room in my house for large figures, and I lean toward stuffed toys since they can get tossed around without being damaged (or damaging other things in the home). They also squish really nicely into any ol' cubby hole in the car when it comes time to move.Though to be honest, it all comes down to the price. $15 and below (after shipping) is impulse buy territory--anything above and I wouldn't really consider it. I'm just not quite that big a fan of the game. Needless to say, I'd be more likely to buy the toy if I saw it in person in a brick-and-mortar store than over the internet (goes hand-in-hand with impulse buying).
You know, with a little adjustment, that figure would be the perfect shape for a bouncy ball ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouncy_ball ). Don't know if you've ever played with any of the egg-shaped bouncy balls that come out around Easter time (or any bouncy balls at all), but they're a blast.

I think something as cute as a Toki Tori plush could manage to sell well. I know I'd buy one! | January 27, 2009 @ 0:04 CET

I would love to have one of these. I actually to tell you the truth bought this game using a WiiPoints Card I had got for my birthday. I have enjoyed it I played it yesterday. I think its better than most of those other WiiWare puzzle games where all you do is match blocks, cubes, or stones. This one is like an adventure puzzle game not to mention all the great items. So please I am a supporter for Toki Tori and I have a love for video game merchandise and this would be very cool to have for me for such a great game!Justin | January 27, 2009 @ 3:29 CET
I'd LOVE a Toki Tori stress ball with eyes that bulge when squeezed. I'd pay a TON for one! | January 27, 2009 @ 8:23 CET
If you ship this to Germany, and it would cost around 10-15$ and is fully coloured, i would buy one.Brian | January 27, 2009 @ 17:40 CET
I'd buy a Toki Tori figure, but probably not interested in a plush. I love collecting video game memorabilia. | January 28, 2009 @ 1:10 CET
plush would be great and i would love 2 play tori on ds i will buy a plush of him and a ghost 4 15$Nightram | January 28, 2009 @ 2:02 CET
I'd certainly buy merch from Toki Tori! Plushes and figures! It may be better to release such items around a sequel (hint, hint)!Vince | January 28, 2009 @ 6:49 CET
I love Toki Tori you guys, but I don't want you guys to take any financial risks. I mean, how many message board people will simply say one thing (I'll buy it) and do another (not buy one)? I'm just looking out for you guys - I'd rather you guys use money on more WiiWare titles. Look at how many developers are closing down these days - Toki Tori merch would be nice, but if it's too expensive, don't bother. I'd rather you guys stay open...Jeff Reystube | January 29, 2009 @ 0:11 CET
YEah Toki Tori! A figure would be so cool, hope they go into production with this! | February 8, 2009 @ 17:21 CET
I think Toki Tori has the most bang for my WiiWare buck and I love the character as well. I'd buy. | February 10, 2009 @ 13:26 CET
If you sent it to the UK, hell yes!Add a comment
